Did you know that 21,000 people have stoma surgery each year. A stoma (or ostomy) is a surgically created opening in the abdomen to divert the flow of feces or urine so that it can be collected in a bag. Today is the day that we celebrate all the warriors learning to adjust to life with an ostomy. Happy World Ostomy Day!
